Home wedding, Port Willunga Wedding Photos

When I got an enquiry from a bridesmaid, telling me that her best friend’s photographer cancelled last minute, my ears pricked up. There’s nothing worse than planning a major life event like a wedding, when 3 months before it’s all set to go down, the photographer leaves you high and dry. I wanted to help straight away.

By some luck, the wedding I was shooting on this particular weekend, was on a Friday, which meant that I had their wedding day free – so when Brooke and Adam and I met for the first time, it felt like fate. I was immediately taken by how connected they were to each other. Both seemed so natural, calm. Their presence with each other was so perfectly balanced, I could tell the relationship ran deep.

As we discussed their wedding day plans, the more I realised how genuinely relaxed they both were. The ceremony was to be held at Brooke’s parents home, in Willunga, and the reception to be held at Pt.Noarlunga. They had planned to do a lot of the decoration and styling themselves. Photography was important to them, with one of their bridesmaids already working as a professional – as they both knew and felt that it would be one of the few things left after the day had passed.

The celebration that welcomed family and friends was nothing short of genuine. They wanted to keep it simple, understated, with a beautiful celebration of their love to mark the occasion. I left a couple of hours after the reception started, but check out the day as it unfolded below.
