It’s rare that I don’t get to meet the bride and groom before the wedding day, but due to a series of unfortunate events, it seemed unlikely that I would meet Elle & Declan before their big day. I always feel a little apprehensive when this happens, as my work revolves around how well I know my couples. We had build some foundations via email correspondence and I can always get a bit of a gauge with the pre-wedding questionnaires we work on together. But on the day I was greeted by Declan at his door, with a big smile like we were old friends, and I knew then and there it would be a beautiful day.
Both Declan and Elle have beautiful, warm, loving families and it was an absolute joy to be able to celebrate their wedding day with them. The clouds in the sky lingered a touch, threatening the ceremony, but the rain kept away and we started a lovely ceremony at Serafino wines in McLaren Vale.
You could tell that Elle and Declan get a long really well, the unspoken jokes between the two of them were alive as plenty of laughs and smiles were exchanged. With a long running history between the bridal party, they were such a comfortable group to hang with each other. Some beautiful words exchanged at the reception and then it was time to hit the dance floor. Drinks wine and food flowed as the celebrations ran into the night.
On a personal note, it was great being able to celebrate your wedding guys! Thanks for having me there to document your beautiful love.
Here’s some snaps of their day.
