Adelaide CBD Engagement Photos

When a childhood friend you haven’t seen in over a decade gets in touch and asks you to document their wedding, it’s a welcome email indeed! I was excited to hear Ivar had gotten engaged, and even more stoked that she wanted me to document her wedding day.

In discovering Ivar and Neil’s story, I really wanted to showcase the authenticity of their relationship. Neil is strong, generous and the quiet type, Ivar the more outgoing and chatty one. Together they compliment each other well. Ivar is an Adelaide girl, but has made her home in Sydney, where she met the love of her life in Neil.

I love my city and I often go to a long extent to showcase how beautiful it is, so it’s nice that Ivar and Neil had a chance to come back to have their urban engagement photos in Adelaide.

In this Adelaide CBD engagement shoot, showcasing the more cosmopolitan areas of the city made sense, since both Ivar and Neil are living in Sydney. Starting off in the artisan oasis of Ebeneezer place, a freshly painted mural by local artist James Cochran “Ophelia” was the perfect backdrop. The colours were a brilliant compliment to Ivar’s sense of style, rocking a dress by Rodeo Show, she looked simply stunning.

Very quickly it was evident that Neil and Ivar are deeply in love. There’s a calming effect when you sense this and it was very quick for the nerves to disappear. For all my couples, it’s important to get to a place where the two of you relax and have some fun. This gives me the greatest chance to capture the true nature of your relationship.

Ivar and Neil did this in spades – I can’t wait for their wedding day, I’m sure there will be plenty of love and laughs to capture!
